I have to say that designing and making quilts are my biggest passion. From picking out the perfect fabric for a specific person to designing the quilt to sewing it together. This was just a hobby that I tried and fell in love with.
The one thing that I love to do when making quilts for babies and toddlers is pick out colors and fabrics that will transition with your little ones. I'd like you to be able to keep the blanket out as your child grows and not have to box it away because it deems "too babyish" for your little one. It will be held on to because it's modern enough to take with you or keep it in your child's room.
This quilt is the very first one I ever made. I wanted to make something special for my best friend who was having a baby girl. She fell in love with it and I fell in love with making the perfect quilt. The colors are pink and brown. Just as simple as that.
This purple and green quilt is a soft print that I picked out for another one of my best friends' who was also having a baby girl. This trend has been nothing but helpful for me so that I can test out all my products on my favorite ladies.
I made this brown, tan and fuchsia quilt for a fundraiser that was being held by a friend for a fallen police officer and his family. This blanket went specifically to the family's daughter, Zoey who has a genetic disorder. From what I've been told she loves her blanket.
This sock monkey quilt blanket was my favorite to make because I started at this point to stop following a pattern and go out all on my own. It's so colorful for a little boy with the rich red, brown and ivory monkey and banana prints. The backing is made of a flannel ivory, red and brown polka dotted pattern. I made two of these sock monkey blankets. One for my cousin's son who was turning one and one was ordered by my best friend to give out to a baby boy for the holidays.
I'm actually still holding on to this chocolate and blue colored quilt that is bordered with a cuddly, minky brown border and a chocolate swirled themed backing. It turned out a lot smaller than all of my other quilts since I used a Charm Pack of fabrics to make the quilt with. I won't be using one of those again. This quilt can clearly only be used for a newborn.
Known as Project Addison, I made this soft pink, sage green and butterfly printed quilt for a friend's daughter that was turning a year old. I placed strips of ivory and sage fabric between the quilted squares and bordered the quilt with a simple ivory fabric that I embroidered with pink thread around the edges. The backing is also set with the same ivory flannel fabric.

This is my most recent quilt. Project Taylor as I call it since that's the name of the little boy that I made it for. The twin brother to the little girl I made the blanket above for. I wanted to make sure that their blankets were as different as possible since they are twins. I'm really fond of making quilts for little boys since I don't get to make them very often. When I do get to make them I go all out when trying to find the perfect big boy fabrics.
This quilt is the All Star 2 flannel fabric line by Riley Blake. Who is one of my favorite fabric designers. I used the blue, green and brown colors and used blue and green star fabric strips to separate each row. The back is made of blue circle flannel fabric. This blanket, like the sock monkey blanket are so much fun for little boys who think they are big boys.
